Thousands of years ago the water that flowed from the fountain of the villa supplied Iberian Siege of Jumilla, providing livelihoods and opportunities for the provision of water to the first settlements in the area.
Centuries later, the site is being remodeled, so as to preserve its cultural and maintain over time a part of the history of Jumilla.
The work, which began in July, and whose execution time was marked in three months, are nearing completion, and from the Department of Agriculture, in charge of the redevelopment area of ​​the site have confirmed that in a few days will by conclusion of the proceedings that have been developed there.
The project has been funded by the Directorate General for the Environment with a budget of 34,000 euros, contemplated the restoration of the old perimeter wall, which also have recovered battlements and small arcades with which the work had as an ornament.
It has also put the environment, built a gazebo, and enabled access through a path.
The proceedings are completed with the installation of information boards which will explain the history of this site, and its contribution to the heritage of Jumilla.
In the coming days, the Board shall certify the works, and from there the site will be open to the public again, to serve as a point of information on the origin of the town, and its heritage significance.
