This Saturday, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, known the city chosen to host the 2020 Olympics, and although Madrid, candidate city had a crap shoot, could not be, resulting Tokyo as the one.
A thousand miles in Jumilla, Murcia, dozens of children supported the Spanish candidacy participating in the activity "Jumilla Madrid 2020" that from the departments of Citizenship, Sports and Children, was organized in show of support.
Activities began at 19.00 pm in the Paseo Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola, where for a few hours the Olympic spirit was made with the illusion of the young.
More than 300 children of virtually all ages participated in various sports events that different collaborators clubs organized for the occasion.
Handball, basketball, football, badminton and athletics, were some of the sports that young people could practice accompanied by their parents, making the activity in an event for the whole family.
Furthermore, sporting events, children also were able to participate in workshops in which they were taught, from the symbolism of the Olympics, to its values ​​and meaning complementing the didactic offer.
From the departments involved in the organization, thanked the clubs and corporate partners in the event, the commitment to the sport and with children, making the activity a success, both in participation and in their development.
"It could be, but in Jumilla, mothers, fathers, children have had a family afternoon linked to sports and creative activities which small have known a little more about the Olympics and value of sport" explained Antonio Valero , Councillor for Citizen Participation.
