This is the natural spring that supplied from the Iberian era villa Jumilla, and in which there is documented even palaeolithic remains.
Given the historical importance of the whole, in 2010 the Directorate General for the Environment approved a grant of € 34,000 for rehabilitation and conservation work, however the execution of the works did not start until this summer.
The project includes restoring the old wall, protect and control access to Cerrico de la Fuente, conditioning the environment and build a gazebo, and enable access through a path.

The work n ° 1 of the redevelopment and rehabilitation was approved by the Governing Board last week along with the minutes of rethinking totaling 10,500 euros.
