The Federation of Clubs promoted three years ago Traditional Wine Parade, a nod to the past with which to recover the essence of the Harvest Festival in its purest splendor.
On Wednesday, 17 of the 21 clubs that make up the Federation of Peñas paraded through the town's streets dressed each with its costumes and exhibiting in each float a reason related to the more traditional Jumilla.
Issues esparto, cars of decades past, grape foam board on your lunch hour and pictures and models of symbolic sites of the town, were some of the reasons chosen by peñeros peñeros and to participate in the contest, whose prize Honors went to the Rock The Old Town by a great representation of the Square Top.
The first prize went to the rock The Bodeguica, the second went to the harvesters of the Farmhouse and the third to the rock The Chariot.
In the afternoon, all marched in the parade floats inviting Jumillano jumillanas and visitors to enjoy the virtues of the city, through its wines and typical products.
According to the president of the Federation of Peñas, Francisco Javier Vazquez, the ride was a success both in influx of public and involvement of the rock, so the "satisfaction is full".
The next big event for this group of Jumilla revelers will be next Saturday at the Grand Parade of Wine.
