A group of parishioners called for support for the Jumillano to publish an autobiography of the priest Juan Paco Baeza (16/01/2013)

A group of parishioners Jumillano want to see published an autobiography of the priest Juan Paco Baeza, and for that, they need to get meet before the end of this January the money needed to finish this project cover.

As indicated by Anne Thomas Smith, one of the members of this group of parishioners, the goal is that the Pontifical University of Salamanca publish an autobiography of Juan Paco Baeza priest who was in Jumilla for 30 years and that started the process a few years ago to achieve his beatification.

"The book is an impressive testimony to the life of Don Juan Paco and Jumilla situation after the war and is divided into two parts, one more narrative explaining how the town was in those years, and the second is the daily itself the priest, "explains Ana Thomas.

Thus, the group of parishioners called for support for the Jumillano to make the donation which can in order to get the publication.

Also, as highlighted parishioners, Juan Paco Baeza was a priest beloved by the neighbors, as did a host of initiatives for citizens Jumillano.

Paco Juan Baeza

Paco Juan Baeza was born June 29, 1890 in the hamlet of Murcia Bacons Bridge and held various positions along diocesan geography until 1939, when he was appointed parish priest of El Salvador in Jumilla, a position he held until his retirement in 1968.

He served as chaplain of the Monastery of the Mother Rosario Dominican and later was chaplain of the Residence of St. Teresa of Jesus Jornet until his death in 1978.

Created two hospices where he picked up the poor and abandoned children and founded a religious congregation and a school workshop.

It also received the highest distinctions ecclesiastical and civil, as the Gold Medal to charity with distinctive blue and the title of Honorary Citizen of Jumilla.

There is also a garden square in the 4th District that bears his name.

In 2003, Manuel Ureña Pastor, Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena until 2005, began the process of beatification and that still remains open.
