Scheduled activities in the cultural agenda of this quarter within the Museum, revolve around the fifteenth anniversary of the discovery of the site of the Hoya Icnitas of Sima.
The Mayor, Enrique Jimenez, and the Director of the Museum, Cayetano Herrero, presented this morning the part of the quarter within the Cultural Agenda activities within the Ethnographic Museum of Science and Nature.
It is a Icnita of Hyperion.
As explained Cayetano Herrero, the Icnita of Hyperion, is one of the most representative of the site traces the Hoya de la Sima, specifically is an imprint of Hyperion foreleg.
The Hyperion is an animal that lived in the Tertiary, a kind of horse, smaller than the one we know today, striped and with a strong presence in the tertiary age.
From him many bones have been found but not as trace fossils, so the importance of fingerprints found at this site, which remains the first reference in Europe and in Asia.
