The Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maria Dolores Fernandez and Emiliano Hernandez, President of the Institute of Wine Culture, presented the activities the Second Edition of "Children: grape, wine."
The Councillor of Culture, explained that this conference will be aimed at children of fourth graders from the four schools that have acceded to the completion of these activities, and to be held in the cellars partner and the Museum, where know the "Vitis vinifera" and the equipment used for the transformation of old wine, highlighting the importance of the little ones know the origin, history and wine culture, through this activity.
Maria Dolores Fernandez thanked the cooperation of the Department of Education as well as the willingness of the Regulatory Council of the DO Jumilla.
The activity must be done in vintage season for children to understand the process, since the grape harvest until it turns into wine, as Emiliano Hernandez, through the application of new technologies, such as the vintage mechanized.
Consideration has affected the wine as food itself, provided it is consumed in moderation, as the grapes produce juice, which remains a food and, through a natural process, is transformed into wine.
The initiative has been joined by four schools: the CEIP Mariano Suárez, who will visit Bodegas San Isidro on Friday, the CEIP Miguel Hernandez, who visit Bodegas Luzon on the 26th, the Santa Ana CC, will visit Bodegas Omblancas 25 and CEIP Carmen Conde, who will visit Bodegas Carchelo.
The wineries will be various activities like tread grapes, must and get to know the process of making wine in the cellar.
Prior to the tour will visit the museum where children verify the existence of old wine in Jumilla, also known nuggets for oldest wine found in an excavation in Europe, the "Vitis vinifera", thus showing a little more our roots and our culture, from prehistory.
