The next 7th and 8th April is Fair XVII Quality Wines of Jumilla.
This year will be appointed as Honorary President of the prestigious neurosurgeon DO Miguel Marín Padilla, according to sources Regulatory Council.
In this competition brings together the wineries in the DO that bottled wines submitted for consideration in 'blind tasting' panel of professional tasters, representatives of major national media specialist, who are the wine tasting.

The categories that divide these tastings are:-White, Pink, red wines aged youth working or no contact with barrels, vintages 2009 and 2010, young red wines Monastrell processed or no contact with barrel aging, vintages 2009 and 2010, young red wines Monastrell prepared or aged in barrels, vintage 2009 and 2010 Young reds or aged in barrels made, vintages 2009 and 2010 red wines aged in barrels or vintages 2008 and earlier; Reds Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva red wines, sweet wines and liquor.
The result of this review, coming from the main prescribers of wine at the national level and implemented year after year to evaluate the development of BD as a whole in a serious and impartial, will be announced at the awards dinner to be held on the evening of Friday, April 8 at the Salon Pius XII of Jumilla.

Miguel Marín Padilla
Miguel Marín Padilla was born in Jumilla in 1930.
He graduated in Medicine in 1955, served one year as a pediatrician in Cartagena, where he made history and gave medical care to all children who were at the hospice, this stage ended a year later, "not because I means missing or human interest but because I lacked future, wanted more, learn, wanted to see things. Dr. Miguel Marín Padilla is Professor Emeritus of Pathology and Pediatrics at Dartmouth University (Hanover, USA), has taught pathology at the Universities of Harvard, Boston and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Has continued the research started Ramón y Cajal and added new findings on the structure of the human brain.
He has received several awards, among which, the Jacob Javits Award granted by the U.S. Congress to the best research project in neuroscience.
He has also received the gold medal of the University of Granada, the honorary medal of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Valencia, medals Cajal Cajal Club of Philadelphia and the Iberoamerican Academy of Pediatric Neurology.
