Jumillano the hamlet of Fuente del Pino has a new clubhouse, after the rehabilitation carried out in one of the oldest schools in the area of ​​the municipality.
This venue was opened last Thursday by Mayor Francisco Abellán who was accompanied by several council members of the government team and the headman neighbors Thomas and Concepcion de la Fuente del Pino.
This old school building has been enabled for the Neighborhood Association, the Association of Rural Women and Senior Citizens Club, which will be a meeting point for social and cultural activities of the parish.
The headman Conchi Thomas thanked all attendees for their presence in a "very special day for us."
He highlighted the efforts made by the City of Jumilla, and the work of the Neighborhood Association.
For its part, the mayor expressed his pleasure at being in the village and said "not here to say what we have done, but to share with neighbors the effort and the work they have done, in collaboration with the City" .
He also said that "in this hamlet there is a sense of dedication and solidarity of all for doing things they consider necessary."
The maximum local authority also highlighted the work of Antonio Martínez Pedanías councilman.
Abellán recalled the work that has been made since 2007 in both the building and in the environment, implemented in phases and in different years.
In 2007, after the death of the president of the Association of Residents Jesus Guardiola, at the request of the headman and neighbors held a memorial in his memory.
To this end an agreement was endowed with 19,000 euros, with the monument also proceeded to reform the whole garden, lighting, playgrounds and paving.
In the years 2008 and 2009, by another agreement amounting to 24,000 euros are made construction of a new storage for utensils in the courtyard and fix it.
Already in the year 2010, after a study of the state of the roofs of schools, it was decided to undertake the settlement thereof, which is responsible for a project and execute the necessary works.
From the Department of Services performed the work, consisting mainly in the front cover removed, new roof, replacing all the mains and plaster ceilings.
In this phase, with the assistance of the Neighborhood Association, a modified internal partition and put the new pavement.
Finally, in this 2011 have been completed the painting of the building both inside and outside, by the hand of workers and monitor Paint Shop Gemina.
The mayor of Jumilla "with these actions, the transformation has been impressive and has remained as a new building that will accommodate all groups of the parish."
All these works will be completed with the execution of another college housing and rehabilitation of the multi-purpose sports court and in the forecourt of both buildings.
