Yesterday began the Workshop on Employment Gémina involving a total of 32 people in its three forms: Painting, home help and Geriatrics.
Both students and management staff, were received by Mayor Francisco Abellán and Personal Councilwoman Yolanda Fernández.
Abellán has encouraged students to take advantage of this workshop and all the training that they receive, especially, to improve and enhance their job prospects.
Also, Yolanda Fernandez insisted that "this workshop is an important career opportunity now."
The workshop involved 32 students, 12 of them in the form of painting, ten in home help and 10 in geriatrics.
These students were selected from a total of 96 people.
The management team comprises a director, an administrator and three monitors spread across the three specialties.
The workshop lasts one year, extends until 14 November 2011 and has two phases.
A first phase, with 25% of working 40 hours a week of training and 75% of job or internship.
The practice of home help was made through Social Services, covering the various applications they have on this center.
For its part, the practices of Geriatrics will be held in the Asylum and Center Villa Sofia and Painting in various public spaces and buildings that require this work.
The total cost amounts to EUR 694,812.20, of which the City provides 3562.28 euros and the rest, 691,249.92 euros, is funded by the European Social Fund, through a program of the Employment and Training Service (SEF .)
