Last Sunday was opened the new chapel of San Pedro in the hamlet of Las Jumillano Encebras.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Jumilla Francisco Abellán, the headman Francisco Molina, Pedanías Councilman Antonio Martínez, Partido Popular spokesman Enrique Jimenez, Councilman Francisco Escandell popular and almost 200 residents of this area of the municipality.
In his speech, the Mayor of Jumilla highlighted the good work of headman over recent years, as well as all residents of The Encebras, "here you are working behind the headman role because there is a large group of people who take time to improve the parish. "
Abellán also highlighted the coincidence that the same day he opened the Chapel of St. Peter, Pope Benedict XVI came to Spain to visit Santiago de Compostela during the Holy Year and Barcelona on the occasion of the consecration of temple Sagrada Familia.
Before Abellán words, the headman Francisco Molina welcomed all attendees and noted that "this is a very special year for the parish and a pride for all."
He also thanked the work of the Association of Rural Women, the Association of Theatre and Culture and the City, Pedanías councilor and residents in general for their cooperation with the parish. "The headman reminded that the works of the chapel began in November 2004 and was opened six years later.
Molina gave out souvenir plates paths to the mayor and council of parishes.
