Jumilla City Council, through the Department of Transport, has joined the campaign 'Make do and improve your security' aimed at users of bicycles, as confirmed by the council Primitivo Gonzalez.
This is a campaign by the Traffic Department to be carried out throughout the month of November on the compulsory use of lighting and reflectors on bicycles at night, to improve visibility and safety.
The Directorate General of Traffic to be recalled that last May the law came into force 18/2009 of 23 November, amending the Road Safety Act in sanctioning.
Among other developments has been categorized as minor violations that do not carry bikes pro lights and reflectors at night.
Being a mild violation of the sanction, in accordance with the provisions of Article 67.1 of the law is up to 100 euros and the relation encoded violations compiled by the DGT proposes a penalty of 80 euros that if compliance and if paid within 20 calendar days following notification, has a 50% discount, which would be 40 euros.
To promote compliance with the use of light and reflectors on bicycles has been provided for this campaign under the slogan 'try to see and improve your security, directed to users while the local police to inform cyclists about obligation to carry and use, but not punish.
