It identified the three individuals who were in the vehicle and the four had in store, "said the councilman.

Operation 'Retirement'

As for the operation, the government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, Maximo Diaz Cano, said at a news conference that five people have been arrested for the crime of burglary, who were charged at least nine crimes, while other detainees are attributed a crime of receiving stolen (knowingly selling items that are stolen).

Among those arrested for robbery is a marriage, her Spanish and Lithuanian origin, for which the judge has ordered his temporary imprisonment, to be considered the ringleaders of the group, while the remaining detainees are released with charged.

Cano Diaz stressed the importance of recovering as much of copper wire and has acknowledged that "this is not easy or routine" because those who engage in this type of theft "often dispose of material in small quantities and with immediacy."

The Government delegate explained that at the time of arrest, accused of receiving pay 9,000 euros had been bespoken by the copper wire that has been recovered.

He said the operation, called 'Retirement' is not closed, so are not ruled out further arrests.

Investigations began on 29 January after a break of 6,000 liters of oil put in the Cooperativa San José de Ontur (Albacete), although at the time of their arrest they had just arrested and two bottles of this oil stolen.

In addition, they have seized one kilo of hashish and 29 grams of cocaine as well as precision scales, reflecting that "the criminals were diversifying their lines of action" and were "beginning" also in drug trafficking.

Cano Diaz related that to the store where they kept the stolen items, located in Jumilla, the Civil Guard was reached thanks to the oil trail left by the stolen truck to transport the large amount of copper wire they had.

But the truck suffered a blow in the bottom and the trail of oil that was leaving took them to the warehouse where the stolen items were deposited.

At the time of the arrests, which occurred between 13 and 14 last October, were also arrested 10,070 euros in cash.

The operation was carried out by agents of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil de Albacete, with members of the Guardia Civil of Jumilla and Local Police of that city of Murcia.

With this operation "was dismantled a very active group that was creating alarm in the province of Albacete, on the border with Murcia province," said the delegate of the Government.
