The socialist municipal group has filed a motion to be discussed at the regular full October, which will urge the Government of the Region which is responsible for Social Policy, not to reduce its contribution subsidies to political social and enjoy the Budget Act of 2011 at least maintaining the same amount compared to 2010.
In the text of the motion argued that "this last year and although the social situation is more complicated to that in previous years due to the crisis, we see that instead of reinforcing these social policies, the City Council as the the rest of the region, is meeting a very important decrease of subsidies for the implementation of social programs, which means that in almost all cases, municipalities have to bear this cost alone, such as hiring staff assigned to the programs, and in all cases the reduction in the provision of needed services and defendants in these moments. "
For the socialist municipal group "social policies are the foundation of the welfare state and have always provided an important struggle in the attainment of social rights for all people and especially for disadvantaged groups. Implanted: Free Health Education and and universal pensions, and finally the recognition by the Law for Promotion of Personal Autonomy, which recognizes the rights of dependents, plus it comes with a corresponding budget effort to provide adequate coverage to them and make them effective. "
They add that "the Organic Law 4 / 2000 of 11 January on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain, as amended by the LO 8 / 2000 and 14/2003, was a major turning point whereby, foreigners enjoyed rights and obligations in Spain, engaging the various governments of the autonomous communities regardless of political stripe, and the Ministry to work towards effective integration. "
Finally, note that "in recent years, from the different administrations, has promoted the work in the area of social policy through specific intervention programs, providing budgetary each and every one of them immigrants, families, seniors and dependency. "
