The works of reform of the Plaza de San Juan are already underway, which, like the rest of the garden areas that the City of Jumilla is rehabilitating, will renew its image and will become an open space, functional and adapted to the times.
The perimeter stone curb has been removed from the central source, which will be reduced to the central glass, "with the aim of achieving greater breadth of walk and rest area in the interior of the garden," said Councilman Works, Francisco González
Likewise, albero will be replaced throughout the garden and the sandbox will be eliminated.
Vegetable soil, security pavement and artificial turf will be added, as well as a gardener's curb that replaces the one around the flowerbeds, which was dangerous for the children.
In addition, banks and litter bins will be replaced and playgrounds will be installed with a sheep-type complex, which includes a slide and a climbing wall.
The winning company is Natural Engineering, Water and Environment for an amount of 57,000 euros.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, said that "it is another action that is part of the commitment of the local government to rehabilitate the different garden areas of the urban area and districts."
In the current legislature, a total of 14 landscaped areas have been restored, 11 actions have been completed and three are underway: Acerica, San Antón, Juan Paco Baeza, Gloria Fuertes, Santiago, Ronda Poniente, Cipreses, Cañada del Trigo, Wine Museum, Parquesol, roundabouts and medians of Avenida de Yecla, medium painter Antonio Mañas, Manuel Azaña and San Juan.
All this means, since mid-2015, more than 30,000 square meters of renovated green areas, to which another 46,000 will be added once the reform projects of the Garden of the Arsenal, the avenue of Liberty and the Botanical Garden of The Estacada.
