The City of Jumilla has joined again and will actively participate in Earth Hour 2018, a global campaign to combat climate change through the symbolic gesture of turning off the lights for an hour.
Tomorrow, Saturday, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, the lighting of the Castle of Jumilla will go out.
The citizens of the municipality are also encouraged to join this initiative by turning off the lights of the different homes during this hour.
This is the eleventh consecutive year in which this action takes place, second year in the case of Jumilla, promoted by the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate.
One of the objectives is to make the 2016 Paris Agreement a reality, through a global transition towards a clean and low carbon economy and development.
Municipalities, citizens, entities, companies and governments around the world are mobilizing and are working to accelerate this change.
