The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, today held a meeting at the Ministry of Public Works with the general director of roads, José Antonio Fernández, and the deputy director of the area, Luis García, which also have been present the legal counsel of Urbanism of the City Council, as well as a representative of Acal, an external consulting company.
The objective of the meeting was to settle the contradictions of the last report that the Ministry of Public Works made about the way to proceed to dispose of the land to get the expansion works of the El Carche road to take place.
"It has become clear that the cession of occupation of the land does not work, being necessary also the transfer of ownership that has to be done in favor of the CARM, which is responsible for this route," said the mayor.
Likewise, it has been resolved that if expropriation were necessary, the power, in this case, can only be exercised by CARM as the owner of the road and responsible for its maintenance.
"The City could only pay that amount if the case were signed some agreement," said Juana Guardiola.
Fomento will send the first section of the project to the City Council of Jumilla with the list of affected plots.
To deal with the matter in a particular way with each of the owners, they have been established every Wednesday and Friday in April, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., so that the Town Planning technicians are available.
Finally, the mayor said that soon report to the municipal groups the information of all the developments that occur on the matter.
"This is a demand of more than 20 years, so I think that the CARM must make an effort, since there have been many infrastructures of this type." On behalf of the City we will collaborate to the maximum because our neighbors need to circulate for that road with security, which is the most important ", he concluded.
