Jumilla will be the fifth official venue for the departure of the Maroc Challenge.
This year, the city will host the start of the spring edition, specifically on Friday, March 23.
This morning the appointment was presented in the presence of the Councilor for Sports, Juan Manuel García, the director of the race, Rui Cabaco, the head of assistance, Julio Tomás, as well as Antonio Tárraga, representing the 4x4 Club Montesinos, organizer of the departure.
The participating cars will arrive in Jumilla during the morning of Friday, March 23, which will be when the technical and administrative checks are made.
There will be a welcome wine and in the afternoon, from 4:00 pm, the official departure will take place from Paseo Lorenzo Guardiola.
The participants will embark towards Morocco from the port of Motril on the morning of Saturday the 24th. The stages will take place from 25 to 31 March.
As indicated in the presentation, "participation is expected to exceed one hundred teams, of which there will be three or four of Jumillano origin, plus another in organization."
For the Councilor for Sports, "the union of Cabaco, Tomás and Tárraga is synonymous with motor and success".
The most important novelty of the race is the change of format in the course.
"And it is that in this Spring Edition and for the first time in the history of the Maroc Challenge, the entire test will take place in the Erfoud area," said Cabaco.
