To visit Jumilla is to get into the culture, festivals, tradition and customs of a wine-growing territory.
It is to start the senses, is to walk among vineyards, visit a winery, stay in a rural environment, walk its streets, feel its history and, of course, is to take a good wine accompanying its rich cuisine.
This is what Jumilla will teach to the thousands of people who will visit in the 2018 edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) that takes place in Madrid from January 17 to 21.
On Wednesday, the Product Route of the Wine Routes of Spain will be presented, which is part of the Jumilla Wine Route since its inception.
Thursday 18 will be when Jumilla has special prominence with tastings as promotion of its Wine Route and its Harvest Festival, with the screening of a video on it at 17.30.
The mayor, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor of Celebrations, Pilar Martinez, as well as representatives of the Federation of Clubs of the Harvest Festival will be present.
The mayor, who is also directly responsible for the tourism area, indicates that: "The goal is to continue increasing the number of tourists that decide Jumilla as a cultural and wine tourism destination." The year 2017 has again had a significant increase in visitors in the city, according to data that we have collected in the Tourism Office Museums, Castle and cultural buildings have increased their numbers, which was joined by tourists attracted by the XXX National Meeting of Brotherhoods held in September, a major commitment of the City Council, and visits guided to the different wineries and enotecas that once again raised the number of visitors animated by the different activities that the Wine Route organizes during the year ".
