The year 2017 was closed with 123 fewer people in a job search situation than in the previous year.
Figures for December 2016 were 2,360 unemployed, while December 2017 ends with 2,237 unemployed.
Unemployment has also fallen by 19 people in the last month of the year compared to November.
This decrease has been much more marked in men with 21 fewer unemployed than women who have increased by 2.
By academic levels, the bulk of unemployment continues to be concentrated in general education levels (Primary and Secondary), being much less significant in professional education and especially in higher education cycles.
By age, youth unemployment remains the same as the previous month, standing at 11.04%.
Unemployment is also maintained in the age group between 25 to 44 years with 41.57%, and the largest group that is older than 45 years that goes from 45.81% to a 47.38%.
This group represents almost half of all local unemployment with a high incidence of female unemployment.
By nationalities the Spanish unemployed are maintained in 87.39% as the majority group, the other two groups are also maintained, on the one hand the outside of the European Union with 10.91%, the group of citizens being of little significance of the European Union, with only 1.70%.
By economic sectors it is still the service sector that brings together a greater number of unemployed up to 47.16% of the total, and is where the bulk of female unemployment is concentrated, followed by agriculture that has fallen by 1% since the 23rd , 71% up to 22.66%.
The industry sector remains in 10.59% of the total unemployed, and increases from 7.76% to 8.49% in the construction sector, with 11.09% of the sector without activity.
