This week the Infante Don Fadrique street works have been completed, which have lasted four months and have involved the complete renovation of their infrastructures.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the councilman of Works and Urbanism, Francisco González, the manager of Aguas de Jumilla, Manuel Rayo, and the manager of Ayllonza (contractor), Gabriel Sánchez, visited the street yesterday, accompanied by several technicians .
The work consisted in the complete renovation of the road, sidewalks and drinking water and sanitation networks, as well as construction of rainwater network.
The street now meets two basic objectives: accessibility and functional design.
The sidewalks have been widened until reaching 1.5 meters with non-slip pavement.
Trash cans have been placed and parking spaces have been indicated, including for people with reduced mobility.
The meeting of the sidewalk with the road, in the pedestrian crossings, has been made by a ford without ridges and so that no water stagnation occurs.
This is the renovation of one of the main roads of the Barrio de San Antón, which has been carried out within the Regional Action Plan for the Dynamization of Municipal Works and Services, which also included La Vía Street (La Estacada), with an investment 290,570 euros, of which 109,237 are contributed by the City of Jumilla and the rest by the CARM.
