This morning the diplomas of the Manitas Workshop have been closed and handed out by the Department of Social Policy of the City of Jumilla, through the Accompaniment Program and in collaboration with the Abraham Project Association.
It was a course for people who are in a process of high vulnerability or social exclusion.
It is an experimental and novel project in the Region of Murcia, adapted to the needs of the municipality and that expands the offer of training workshops that the Abraham Project Association has taught in previous years such as the garment repair and sewing workshop, repair shop footwear or basic computer workshop.
The objective has been to teach to make small repairs, repairs and tasks of basic maintenance of the home, getting to acquire the skills and knowledge of what is called daily as "a handyman".
It has also been completed with a few hours to acquire pre-employment skills, in which students have had the opportunity to work on the contents learned in the Shelter that the City Council has in the locality and which the Social Services Center manages, as well as in the El Alpicoz Social Center, where they have made different repairs.
