The Councilor for Culture and Celebrations, Pilar Martinez, and the president of the San Francisco de Asis de Jumilla Belenista Association, Francisco Jiménez, presented last night the poster and program of events for Christmas 2017 that begins this Thursday with the lights on, It will take place at 8 pm at the door of the Teatro Vico with the performance of the choir of white voices and the band of the Jumillana Association of Friends of Music.
The rest of the program is composed of more than thirty activities aimed at all audiences, but with special emphasis on the enjoyment of children.
The Christmas proclamation will be offered this Sunday by Francisco Abellán Martínez at the Church of San Juan.
The previous afternoon will be the route of lighting of trees, from 17 hours, starting at La Alquería and ending in the Barrio de San Fermín.
The music will also be the protagonist during all the parties with different performances in neighborhoods and districts, as well as with the Christmas Concert of the Julián Santos Musical Association on Friday, December 22nd.
In addition, on January 2, at 6 pm, The Drilo gang will perform at the Teatro Vico with tickets at 3 euros.
The Belenista Route will be inaugurated on Saturday the 23rd in the Nativity Scene of the Gómez Lozano Family, in Calle Cruces, 1. This year the number of contestants has increased, reaching the figure of 12, with the novelty of the participation of the Central Board of Brotherhoods in the Wine Museum.
There will be no shortage of children's bells on the morning of December 31st and the Great Cavalcade of Kings, on January 5 from 5pm.
In the act celebrated last night the poster of Christmas 2017 was presented, created from a photograph of Eduardo M. Gea representing a scene of water from the Bethlehem.
The president of the Association of Belenistas explained the origin of each of the sculptures that appear in it.
