On November 18 a local Assembly was held and unanimously the resignation of said councilor was requested due to the continuous discrepancies with the political line and the operational guidelines set by the Assembly and the municipal group.
This problem has been dragging on for a while and several meetings and assemblies have been held around this issue trying to solve it, although it has not been possible in the end.
In the aforementioned Local Assembly, it was decided to open a disciplinary file for the aforementioned reasons and Benito Santos' refusal to attend the Assembly's request to deliver his councilor's report.
He himself asked for his resignation in Izquierda Unida, which is already effective, so he has submitted a letter to make it clear that he is not part of the municipal group of Izquierda Unida Verdes when he disassociates himself from the organization.
In no case is the motive personal or based on the relationship between any of the companions / partners of the organization.
The reasons have to be framed in political differences, on the one hand with the political line to follow and on the other hand with the different policy or form of operation of IU Greens after the last regional and state Assemblies, since also a few months ago the statutes of our training have changed and contemplate a different mode of operation, more open and participatory, and as always assembly.
In short it is not something personal but political and we want to make clear from the municipal group that there has been no lack of efforts to integrate or assume different positions, but that what has been has been unwilling to take positions of the majority of the United Left-Greens Assembly.
