The Governing Council has given the green light, at the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, to contracting and spending for the construction of the new CEIP 'Prince Felipe' of Jumilla.
The Community will invest 3.239.510 euros in the new educational center, which will have 6 units of Infant, 12 units of Primary and an additional classroom of music.
The site, provided by the City of Jumilla and located between the street of San Agustín and Avenida del Cristo Amarrado, has an area of ​​9,269 meters, on which will be built a center of 3,545 square meters of total built surface.
The teaching center is designed as a set of buildings consisting of a main pavilion, a module for early childhood education, another for the Primary stage, a module where the dining room and its facilities and a gym will be located.
In addition, pergolas have been designed to protect from the rain and sun that interconnect the different buildings that make up the school.
It will also consist of two didactic gardens, within the extensive regional network of centers attached to the school garden program, a great resource both to reinforce content and to transmit values.
The project will be financed by 80 percent with the contribution of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the term of execution of the works is 18 months.
The Community invests a total of 20 million euros this year in actions to improve the infrastructure of schools in the 45 municipalities of the Region of Murcia to promote educational quality.
