The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, accompanied by the Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Education, Salvi Pérez, visited this morning the Institute of Secondary Education Infanta Elena to announce the imminent construction of the new building of the Príncipe Felipe Children's and Primary Education Center, whose current building will be used to expand the institute's offer.
During the next few days contracting and construction spending will be approved.
The Mayor of Jumilla expressed her satisfaction at the news: "I am very happy that the construction of the new center that will replace the current one and the long-awaited expansion of IES Infanta Elena is finally going to come true. Two weeks ago, the works license was requested in the Register, a procedure to which we have given priority and CARM has already requested the documentation that was missing ".
The new center will have two educational lines, so it will have 6 units of Early Childhood Education and 12 units of Primary.
The total budget amounts to 3,239,510 euros.
Another priority for Jumilla in Education, according to the mayor, is to carry out the reforms required by the former Prince Felipe to adapt to the needs of IES Infanta Elena.
Also, the mayor has indicated the arrangement of the sports courts of schools, the implementation of a dining room at the Colegio La Asunción, the renovation of some heating in several centers, as well as improving air conditioning.
These are claims made several times by the Local Government during the current legislature.
