The Department of Public Health of the City of Jumilla will offer assisted therapy with animals for people with some type of disability in order to improve their quality of life and social integration.
It is expected that 12 sessions of 50 minutes each will be carried out, eight of them in the Aspajunide association's facilities and the remaining four with Amfiju.
The therapy will be carried out by professionals of the Madocan entity with a cost of 1,800 euros, as approved yesterday by the Local Government Board.
People with disabilities who do not belong to either of these associations and wish to participate can also do so by contacting the Department of Health through the mail areasanidad.ss@jumilla.org.
The Councilor for Public Health, Lucía Jiménez, has highlighted his intention to continue organizing this type of activities in the future: "This year we conducted this therapy with animals in collaboration with the Department of the Environment to promote respect for animals and at the same time time to help people with disabilities by making available to them these types of therapies that do not exist in the ordinary health system and that we know have benefits.
