The Councilor for Equality, Salvi Pérez and the general director of the area, Alicia Barquero, visited the Center for Specialized Attention to Women Victims of Violence (CAVI) in Jumilla and the Conciliation Classroom of the Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.
CAVI de Jumilla has increased the number of attentions that it gives with respect to the previous year, although both Salvi Pérez and Alicia Barquero have agreed that "this does not mean that gender violence has increased, but that women have lost fear of using this help and that the service is becoming more known through the campaigns that are carried out and the coordination between agencies ".
This service has received this year a subsidy amounting to 40,584.94 euros, which is enough to hire the necessary staff for its operation during nine of the twelve months of the year.
For its part, the Classroom of Conciliation of the School Our Lady of the Assumption, that started up month ago, is being used by 35 children, reason why practically all the available places have been completed.
It was initiated through a grant of 9,863 euros, of which 80% is from the European Social Fund, and which will be enough to cover it until the end of 2017. It is foreseen that the AMPA of the school will give continuity from January, establishing quotas.
Jumilla City Council provides the concierge service and cleaning service.
