The ROCA Team has arrested three people and investigated another nine for the theft of more than two tons of almonds in the Altiplano
The dismantled criminal group was based in Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz, and had great mobility when carrying out criminal activity
So far, the alleged authorship of four crimes is attributed to them
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the 'Plan against the abductions in agricultural and livestock farms', has carried out an investigation in the Altiplano region that has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal group consisting of ten people and dedicated to the theft of products from the countryside.
During the proceedings, the agents have recovered all of the stolen products.
Agents of the ROCA Team (against theft in the field) of the Benemérita began the operation after the complaint filed by two farmers in which they reported the theft of 2,000 kg of almonds from two farms located in the Jumillano hamlet of Fuente del Pino .
In addition to conducting various efforts to clarify the criminal act, the researchers established a surveillance device in the area in order to prevent further theft and, where appropriate, arrest those responsible, since the site still bears fruits without collecting.
The device made by the civil guards gave its positive result.
In one of the plots where surveillance had been established, six people were surprised, family-related, while collecting the almond from the trees without authorization from the owner.
After locating the owner of the plot, he informed the agents that the previous day he had surprised the same people when they had already collected a hundred kilos of almonds.
In addition to the first six surprised in flagrante, the agents detected three other people who were also on another of the victim's farms, beating the trees with a corrugated iron two meters long, which also caused serious damage to the branches of the almond trees.
On this occasion they had collected about 200 kilos.
The signs obtained during the first investigation allowed the agents to locate the warehouse where those involved in the thefts had sold the almonds, which together with those seized on the farms, would add about a ton and a half of almonds, which have been seized judicial disposition.
The investigations carried out around the second complaint have allowed to relate the suspects to the alleged authorship of the theft of almonds that, similarly, have been located, recovered and returned to their legitimate owner.
The detained / investigated seven men and two women, of Bulgarian nationality, between 18 and 49 years old, and residents of Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz, the recovered products and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Juzgado de Instrucción de Jumilla ( Murcia).
