In the afternoon of yesterday the improvement works of the Municipal School of Music were presented with a visit to the center and with a concert of teachers in the auditorium of the Conservatory, which also served as the opening of the 2017/18 academic year. a comprehensive reform throughout the building that has involved an investment of 60,668.83 euros.
The doors of the classrooms have been soundproofed, as well as several walls.
The entire building has been repainted, the toilets have been fixed, an adhesive PVC floor has been laid and an ornamental fountain has been placed in the patio.
Likewise, the spaces have been redistributed in a more logical way and the heating has been adapted to these changes.
Most of the work has been carried out by local companies and by municipal workers. The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, expressed her satisfaction with the reform and highlighted "the commitment to musical teachings in this term."
The Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González, was in charge of offering all the details of a work that the director of the center, Salvador Pérez, described as "necessary".
In the act have also been present the Councilor for Education, Salvi Perez, the regional deputy, Yolanda Fernandez, several councilors of the corporation and the president of the AMPA, Magdalena Jiménez.
The investment of these more than 66,000 euros join the 55,000 spent this summer by the City of Jumilla to set up the educational centers for the new course.
