The Local Action Groups presented the lines and measures of the new non-programmed projects in the participatory local development strategies of the Leader Program (2014-2020) in the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, which should focus on the creation employment, improvement of the quality of life, maintenance of the rural heritage, care of the environment or gender equality.
The Association for the Regional Development of the Northeast, of which Jumilla is part, contemplates four lines of action: Smart rural: places to live and work;
Northeastern region: a territory in equality;
Northeastern region: a singular and sustainable tourist destination;
and Northeastern Region: an innovative intelligent territory.
The amount for this period is 3,943,411 euros, which will be distributed in different projects by the administrations, which will join other private.
The Ministry is expected to publish the call soon.
The aid will be financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (63%) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (37%).
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, as president of the Regional Development Association of the Northeast Region of Murcia, said in her speech that: "These are very expected funds for our territory, which has 100% rurality" .
