The City of Jumilla has opened the deadline for submitting accessions for the award of the title of Favorite Son to the local journalist, José García Martínez, having outstandingly outstanding for his personal merits.
He has developed a brilliant career as a journalist for more than half a century and is still active in the daily La Verdad de Murcia.
He has established a journalistic style of his own that has even been the subject of analysis and scientific study in doctoral theses and deserving of numerous distinctions, titles and appointments, always exerting ambassador of Jumilla and also spreading the lexicon, our local feelings and customs, as well as defending the interests of the city of Jumilla.
Any citizen who, in his / her personal or collective capacity, deems it appropriate may submit an adhesion, as well as the contribution of the merits, antecedents or references that lead to the granting of the title.
The deadline for presentation will be open until November 30 and can be done at City Hall.
There is a membership model that can be downloaded from the municipal website.
