The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Public Health Councilor, Lucía Jiménez, and the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Jumilla, María Josefa Calvo, presented the events organized on the occasion of the International Day Against Breast Cancer is celebrated next October 19.
The first activity is scheduled for next Monday 16 with the laying of the pink ribbon on the balcony of the City Hall from 12.00 hours, which will also be lit throughout the week.
On Tuesday 17 will be carried out the already traditional sale of sunglasses to raise funds in the information stand to be placed in the Mercado de Abastos, Teatro Vico and Health Center.
For Wednesday is scheduled a talk on palliative care by Dr. Adoración Lozano.
On Thursday a special program will be held live from Radio Jumilla, from 10 am to 11 am.
The events will end on Sunday at 10.30 with the March against Breast Cancer, which will consist of climbing the Castle from the Campos de Jumilla Cooperative, wearing a pink handkerchief or T-shirt.
The mayor stressed "the important work that makes the association throughout the year to fight against this disease."
Juana Guardiola took the opportunity to show the support of the City Council "both to its president and to all those who work in a disinterested way to raise funds, as well as to inform and raise awareness among citizens."
