This morning have begun work for the construction of the new Olympic pool of the Municipal Sports Center La Hoya.
They will have a cost of about 430,064 euros and are being made by the mercantile companies of Zima Desarrollos Integrales and Zaragoza 2012 Grupo Constructor.
The forecast of duration of the same is four months, so they must be completed in February 2018.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, has remembered the whole process since the decision was made to build a new one.
"Five companies resigned after exhausting the administrative deadlines, once they were awarded the work, hence the delay of the beginning," he said.
The current pool dates back to the early 1980s and since the year 2010 they have been detecting water leaks due to leaks.
Since then, emergency repairs have been made.
In October 2015, Aguas de Jumilla issued a report indicating that it presented serious structural problems requiring a comprehensive reparation.
As explained by the Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González will keep the Olympic measures of the glass, building it to the full.
The sewage system will also be renovated and four shower steps will be placed, instead of two as currently.
It will also be new all the connection of water, electrical installation, as well as the forged and ladder of the zone of the purifier.
There will also be an elevator that will allow access to people with mobility problems.
The vessel will be of projected and reinforced concrete and will vulcanize everything that is in contact with the water.
For his part, Councilor for Sports, Juan Manuel García, has expressed his satisfaction at the start of the works and has described the decision to make this investment as "successful and brave, which will allow swimmers to have a magnificent installation the next 2018 ".
