The Jumilla City Council has launched a project to prevent addictions in minors that will be carried out through the Association of Rehabilitated Alcoholics of Jumilla (ARJU).
On the one hand, during October and November, a healthy habits workshop will be held with all students of 6th grade, 2nd year of ESO and of the basic and medium-level training cycles, including CIFEA.
In total there will be approximately one thousand students who take part, receiving three sessions per group.
At the end of the workshop there will be a contest with the motto 'That drugs do not decide for you'.
The students of Primary Education will have to present a drawing that will serve as an image of the poster of the XII conference on additions made by ARJU.
For the rest, the contest will be based on choosing the title of the conference, with tablets as a prize.
On the other hand, there is also a family workshop with sessions for parents of 6th grade Primary students on 6, 13, 20 and 27 November and for parents of secondary school students and training cycles on 7, 14, 21 , and 28 November.
In both cases the schedule is from 20.00 to 21.30 hours in the room La Bodeguilla Cultural Center Roque Baños.
The Councilor for Social Policy, Salvi Pérez, has indicated that "this year the increase in the Municipal Budget was set to carry out actions to prevent drug use. A contract has been made with this association for 7,000 euros per consider it a specialist in the problem of drug addiction and because, in addition, had already made similar programs and very successful, for example, in 2015 with a subsidy also the City. "
He was accompanied in the presentation by the directors of ARJU, Antonio Palencia and Cati Moreno, as well as the psychologist, Pilar Requena, and the social worker, Ascensión Lozano.
