The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the president of the Central Board of Brotherhoods of Holy Week, Juan Francisco Martinez, have signed this afternoon the agreement for the granting of the extraordinary subsidy scheduled nominally in the Municipal Budgets 2017 on the occasion of the 30th Meeting National Cofradías.
In the act of the signature have also been present, the councilors of Culture and Celebrations, Services and Citizen Security, Pilar Martinez, Francisco Gonzalez and Eugenio Aguado.
It is a 75,000 euros agreement with which the City of Jumilla collaborates with much of the activities related to the event held in the municipality from 21 to 24 September.
Expenses related to the extraordinary procession of Saturday 23, including music bands, will be sponsored, as well as expenses generated by exhibitions, publications, sound and illumination of acts, protocol gifts, guided tours and speakers' expenses, among others.
Through this agreement, the City Council makes available municipal spaces such as Vico Theater, Wine Museum and Food Market, places where the lectures will be held, the presentation of El Prendimiento, the exhibition Imago Passionis and the Fair Cofrade.
Likewise, it will facilitate the use of the public road where tribunes will be installed and the placement of chairs will be allowed.
The preventive of safety and health will be organized that is necessary in the different activities.
Juana Guardiola said: "This meeting welcomes congressmen from all over Spain and it is planned that both the extraordinary procession and the exhibition will attend a significant number of people, so it is an opportunity to promote and publicize Holy Week and Jumilla to those who come here and therefore the City must support it to the maximum.
"We have more than 335 people registered in the Meeting, who are sure to spread our Holy Week throughout the national geography," said Juan Francisco Martínez.
