The replacement of the cover of the municipal building, destined at the time to school in the hamlet Fuente del Pino, will begin shortly.
The project was commissioned last June 5 for an amount of 2,541 euros and has been delivered for a few days at the City Hall.
However, the heavy rains of the last few days have caused the collapse of part of it before the planned action is carried out, due to the significant deterioration that had suffered for years.
After the replacement of the roof, the building will be fully conditioned, the total amount of the project being 84,110.01 euros "in order that it can be enjoyed as soon as possible by the neighbors of the village of Fuente del Pino", indicated the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola.
From the same moment of the collapse produced on Wednesday, Local Police, Firemen and personnel of Urbanism and Services of the City council, acted to be able to make accessible the zone of around for which the area had to be cordoned off.
The work ended yesterday and can now be safely transited, as well as use the sports court attached to the building.
Juana Guardiola stressed that "knowing the poor condition that the cover of this building has been for years, this was one of the actions planned to be carried out this year with a charge to the item of 120,000 euros provided for in the 2017 Budget for investments in pedanias, having planned to rehabilitate the rest of the building during the next year. "
