The Extraordinary Board of Governors held yesterday approved the agreement with the Federation of Associations of Mothers and Parents of Pupils (FAMPA) for the creation of the Book Bank for the amount of 40,000 euros that is granted through a nominative grant.
The grant will be used to re-launch the project of reusing textbooks in the municipality, which seeks to promote the rational use of educational resources, educate for the conservation and reuse of textbooks, To promote among students and their families values ​​such as co-responsibility and solidarity and to provide families with economic savings through activities based on re-use involving the participation of families, students and teachers in schools.
Councilor for Education, Salvi Pérez, said: "The FAMPA will be in charge of managing the purchase of textbooks of Primary or Secondary or secondary reading books, as well as deliver them to the students and then pick them up in good condition. The purchases of the books will be made in bookshops of Jumilla with the aim of fomenting the local commerce ".
Acceptance of subsidy
Likewise, the Governing Board has approved the acceptance of a subsidy of 38,126 euros that comes from funds from the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality for the development of support to families and the fight against child poverty.
They will be used for two projects, as indicated by the mayor of the area, Salvi Pérez.
14,000 euros will be added to the 120,000 euros that leave the municipal budget and that are destined to cover basic needs.
The 24,126 euros will go to family intervention and support services, working the shortcomings that some families have in the protection of their children.
"A social worker will be hired to complete the family program that is already being carried out from Social Services," said the councilor.
