The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Agriculture and Forestry, Juan Gil, have presented the different projects that will be carried out through the Forest Improvement Fund.
Annually, 15% of the income from forest harvesting or the income obtained by occupations or other activities carried out in the forest is destined to the conservation and improvement thereof, according to the forest law.
Half of the amount is executed by the City of Jumilla and the other half by the Directorate General of Natural Environment.
In Jumilla will be carried out nine projects worth 267,218 euros, 21 euros.
On the part of the General Direction, the recovery of the cultural path of access to Coimbra of the Barranco Ancho, replacement of the cairns of the public hills of the municipality, repair of the shelter Casa Angel, cleaning and maintenance of the Las Pocicas ravine, monitoring and evaluation Environmental impact of the general plans of El Carche and Santa Ana funds and improvement and adaptation of the network of water points in all public hills.
On the part of the City Council will be carried out different actions of improvement of the forest masses in the Sierra de los Bujes, an improvement in the recreational area in Santa Ana and a study of the affections to the public domain of the mountains.
Mayor and councilor of Agriculture agreed to emphasize the importance of signing the agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and the City of Jumilla to occur as soon as possible, "which will result in the people hired to clean forests can be longer working, As the deadline is December 31 ".
