The Civil Guard and the Local Police have reinforced their vigilance during the summer months with the aim of avoiding abductions in agricultural and livestock farms.
It is precisely at this time that the fruit harvest season is underway in Jumilla, and until the harvest is finished in autumn, it is still more necessary to prevent theft in the fields.
The Civil Guard has been in operation since 2013 the 'Plan against the abductions in agricultural and livestock farms' through the Roca Teams.
For its part, the Local Police of Jumilla has the Environmental Patrol, whose objective is similar and both security forces work in coordination with different measures of prevention and action.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Eugenio Aguado, recommends "contacting the Civil Guard (062) or Local Police (968784040) in the presence of any signs or presence in the vicinity of people or strange vehicles that may arouse suspicion. Never put in danger the life or physical integrity in case of being victim of these crimes ".
It is also advisable to keep the references and marks of the tools and machinery that are held on farms and the census of animals in the case of agricultural farms.
