The month of May has closed in Jumilla with 243 unemployed less, leaving the total number in 1,860 people in situation of job search.
In the last eight years, unemployment in the municipality had not dropped by two thousand people.
It completes four consecutive months of declines with a reduction of 551 people.
This decrease in the last month of 243 people has been slightly more pronounced in men, with a total of 128 unemployed less compared to women with 115 less unemployed.
By age, Jumilla continues to have relatively low youth unemployment, barely 8.28%, having fallen by almost 1.5% from the previous month.
Unemployment also declines in the group aged between 25 and 44 years, with a decrease of almost 1%, although the largest group, which is over 45 years old, goes from 48.50% to one 50.86%.
By economic sectors, the services sector continues to account for the largest number of unemployed, up to 49.52% of the total, with the bulk of women's unemployment being concentrated.
The councilman of Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, has valued the data as "very positive and significant".
Likewise, he said that "we will continue working from our competitions to try to continue improving these numbers".
