The City Council of Jumilla has approved the bases for the hiring of a legal adviser and a psychologist as interim officials for the CAVI (Center for Assistance to Women Victims of Gender Violence).
The councilor of the area, Salvi Pérez, explained that: "It is necessary to carry out this selective process, since the one carried out in April 2015 was made with personnel, so that after 24 months would become permanent staff. Fulfilled the advertising requirement ".
Likewise, the mayor of the area has referred to the financing of this service that belongs to the CARM as "unstable and insufficient."
Salvi Pérez wanted to make clear that, "despite this, all women victims of gender violence are being served through the Social Services professionals."
The subsidy received by the City of Jumilla is 40,500 euros, but "is insufficient to contract all year, so even if the contract had been made now the service would have been paralyzed by the middle of next January," said the Councilor for Social Policy.
Application for grant
On the other hand, a subsidy will be requested to the Murcian Health Service for the recruitment of people with mental illness or problems of drug dependence that are in the process of recovery.
The amount would be 6,800 euros financed by the European Social Fund to which City Hall would add another 10,000 euros.
"The objective is to get the labor and social insertion of these people with risk of social exclusion," said Salvi Pérez.
