The safety precautionary of Romería 2017 to celebrate this weekend will be composed of more than fifty troops between Local Police, Civil Protection, Civil Guard, Fire and Red Cross, to be joined by climbing experts from Grupo Hinneni and Components of the forest service.
It will begin on Saturday afternoon (17.00 hours) with the beginning of the coexistence of neighborhood associations to be held in the Santa Ana recreational area. It will remain activated until Sunday afternoon.
The traditional farewell Mass of the Christ Tied to the Column that is celebrated in the Church of Santiago the morning of the Sunday of Romería is delayed one hour, reason why in this occasion will begin to the 7.30 hours.
On Sunday there will be a bus service departing from Avenida de la Asunción (corner with Reyes Católicos) with access to El Roalico.
From this point, access to the convent of Santa Ana for people with mobility problems will be done through a minibus.
The access to Santa Ana for the rest of vehicles will be cut once the Christ passes, and will not open until the afternoon.
There will be no access restrictions on Saturday.
The security preceptor met last week with the presence of the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the councilors of Public Safety, Civil Protection, Celebrations, Services and Citizen Participation, Eugenio Aguado, Francisco Vicente Gomez, Pilar Martinez, Francisco Gonzalez and Salvi Pérez, in addition to representatives of the security forces, the Brotherhood of the Christ Tied to the Column, the Peña Caballista Romeros del Cristo and several neighborhood associations.
The coordination of the security device will be in charge of the Department of Citizen Security.
