This Monday has entered into force the Municipal Budget 2017 approved last March 13.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, has offered a press conference to analyze what will mean for Jumilla.
"With this budget, we intend that Jumilla will continue to advance and improve. They are the instrument that will mark the Government's action for this year and that we intend to comply with the maximum extent that the times allow us," said the first local authority.
In investments, with budget line, there are more than 1,200,000 euros, which will be stimulus that will affect both the economy and the municipal heritage.
There are consignments to buy two new sweepers "to comply with having a cleaner Jumilla in its neighborhoods and pedanias".
Equally, there is heading to improve roads like the one of La Raja, to continue improving the municipal buildings, streets or sports facilities.
Investments will continue in all districts and it is intended to recover some more natural space, as has already been done with Sopalmo, as well as continue with actions to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
The budget includes items to set up a building worthy of safety for the Local Police and to condition the building "which must already be a Wine Museum," says the mayor, which states that: "We still lack support from the Regional Government, we continue to expect to see some of our historical demands resolved as the conditioning of the El Carche road or other roads or start-up of the Leader.
The 2017 Budget prioritizes social spending again, bets on public education, sports, culture, tourism and the promotion of the municipality, supporting extraordinary events such as the Encounter of Confraternities in September.
It also improves spending in areas related to agriculture, economy and trade.
The mayor thanked the participation of more than 5oo Jumillans, who with their proposals, collected by the citizens themselves, have decided the destination of 100,000 euros of the 2017 Budget in investments.
Remnant of 3 million euros
In addition, the money coming from the positive remaining 2016, about 3 million euros, will also translate into improvements for Jumilla.
"I still remember the words of members of the PP and especially their insertions in networks, those that like so much and that tend to manipulate public opinion, in which they wondered what would last the good economic results they left. We have maintained, but we have increased them and even, we have improved the general situation of the municipality, that we are so bad, "says Juana Guardiola.
In this sense, the mayor added that: "We are managing well our heritage, that of all Jumillanos, and also, lowering taxes and taxes." We comply with budgetary stability and our situation is clearly positive. But I do not like to boast of that, because the paradox is that we are still tied up by the law of the deficit of the Government of Spain, Rajoy, which prevents us from taking advantage of more and better The financial situation of the City ".
Effort of all
The mayor of Jumilla wanted to thank everyone for their efforts: "From the municipal government we are already planning and preparing with the City Hall staff, the various reports, bases for subsidies, agreements, projects and other things that are needed to make all There is not a lot of staff, and for that, I want to thank the effort that each one in his department and from his position, so that we can do things, as well as the work of all the councilmen. "
"In short, we are proud as a government in the name of all know that we are doing everything possible to improve Jumilla, with plurality and participation, with constancy, work, rigor and seriousness, without demagogues of any kind," he concluded.
