This morning signed the agreement between the Jumilla City Council and the Jumillana Association for the Integration of Mental Disorders AJITM in order for both entities to participate in the program of work placement of young people with intellectual disability and mental illness 'Together we are capable', which Promotes Mapfre Foundation since 2010. The firm has participated the mayor, Juana Guardiola, the Mapfre director, José González, and AJITM president, José María Fernández.
Thanks to this agreement, users of the AJITM association will carry out practices in the City Hall, which will allow them to acquire skills and experience in the work and tasks of the different dependencies.
So far, the program 'Together We Are Capable' has enabled 3,936 companies to actively collaborate with this initiative, facilitating the training of 2,403 people and the employment insertion of 2,483 people with intellectual disability and mental illness.
The mayor of Jumilla has stated that "AJITM is an association that works very seriously, rigorously and is doing a great social work."
AJITM carries out different educational, psychological and cultural programs with the aim of achieving the social and labor integration of these people.
Its president has stressed the importance of this type of impulses, "since 80% of people with mental illness are unemployed."
