The Jumilla City Council has joined and will actively participate in Earth Hour 2017, a global campaign to fight climate change through the symbolic gesture of turning the lights off for an hour.
Next Saturday 25, from 20.30 to 21.30 hours the lighting of the Jumilla Castle will be turned off.
The citizens of the municipality are also encouraged to join this initiative by turning off the lights of the different houses during this hour.
This is the tenth consecutive year in which this action is carried out, promoted by the Spanish Network of Cities for the Climate.
One of the objectives is that the Paris 2016 Agreement be a reality, through a global transition towards a clean and low carbon development and economy.
Municipalities, citizens, entities, companies and governments around the world are mobilizing and are working to accelerate this change.
