The Municipal Budget for 2017 was initially approved last night in an extraordinary session with the positive vote of the PSOE and the opposites of PP and IU-LV.
The absence of a councilor of IU-LV caused a tie to number of votes, but the budget went ahead by the vote of quality of the president.
The political groups tabled 49 amendments, 26 of them by IU-LV and 23 by the PP.
Six of those submitted by IU-LV were approved, two of them unanimously.
They will include the acquisition of a new sweeper, the increase of trees and shrubs in the streets, greater training for municipal workers, the creation of a newspaper and museum magazine, and the transfer of € 5,000 from Festivities to Cooperation And NGOs.
Likewise, the base of execution number 48 regarding the remuneration of the councilors in case of excused absences to plenaries and boards of government is modified.
The total amount of expenditure for the 2017 Budget amounts to € 20,227,356.18, almost € 200,000 lower than the 2016 budget. It focuses on the most vulnerable groups, increasing by 90,000 euros the total investment in the area compared to 2016 , Now standing at 1,464,219 euros.
It brings with it a new increase in subsidies, earmarking an amount of 1,474,633.02 euros, giving economic coverage to a greater number of sports, cultural, health, festive, musical, environmental and educational groups. To add 60,000 euros to social groups.
For example, nominative grants to neighborhood associations have been included, and the grant of 75,000 euros to the Central Board of the Brotherhoods for the organization of the National Cofradias Encounter is extraordinary.
For investments are approved 1,263,530 euros.
There are 120,000 euros for the acquisition of a new sweeper for street cleaning, 25,000 euros for a new car for the Local Police, 14,000 for the start-up of a Canine Police Unit, 120,000 euros for improvements on rural roads and another 120,000 for Conditioning of the Wine Museum, among others.
Likewise, the improvement of the waste collection containers will be continued through an investment of 35,000 euros or the arrangement of streets and squares to which 80,000 euros will be allocated, to which will be added part of the remainder of the Treasury.
Likewise, the improvements initiated in all public buildings and districts will be followed, with a direct investment allocation of 50% to 120,000 euros.
This budget also includes 100,000 euros that will serve to carry out the most voted proposals in the process of Participatory Budgets, which were promoted by the City and which will involve an investment of 75,000 euros in the city and 25,000 euros in districts.
The Municipal Budget must be published for 15 days in the BORM and if it does not receive allegations it may enter into force.
