Approximately fifty jumillanas have joined at noon today the International Women's Parade held at the door of the City Hall.
Among them was the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, several councilors of the corporation, municipal workers and a group of students, among others.
The City Council of Jumilla added to the strike called in more than 40 countries on the occasion of the International Women's Day, which is celebrated today 8 March.
A symbolic concentration of five minutes was made in the main door of the consistory.
The objective is to take advantage of the celebration of this day to denounce situations of unequal treatment of women in the XXI century, to demand the elimination of gender-based violence, the elimination of shared custody of children of perpetrators, the real recovery of women Victims of gender-based violence, real elimination of the glass ceiling and the wage gap, elimination of the pension gap, eradication of sexual assault, and co-responsibility for child and dependent care.
The mayor, Juana Guardiola, said: "We join with this gesture to the other rallies that are taking place today in different parts of the world in order to visualize that when women stop for a good part of the world" .
