The City Council of Jumilla has joined the International Women's Strike called for tomorrow in more than 40 countries to mark the International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8.
There will be a symbolic concentration of five minutes at the main door of the City Hall from 12.00 to 12.05.
From the Department of Equality have encouraged to join all women who want to participate, as well as municipal workers who also want.
The aim is to take advantage of the celebration this day to denounce situations of unequal treatment of women in the XXI century and to demand the elimination of gender violence, as well as the elimination of shared custody of children of abusers, the real recovery of women Victims of gender-based violence, the real elimination of the glass ceiling and the wage gap, elimination of the pension gap, eradication of sexual assault, and co-responsibility for the care of minors and dependents.
"And for many more things, making it clear that if women stop the world, they stop too," they point out from the Department of Equality.
"We consider that on March 8th, besides being a day of celebration, it should be a day of vindication to make visible the existing inequalities that must be corrected with the implication, as it can not be otherwise, of the institutions," they add.
