The number of people seeking employment in Jumilla has fallen by 46 people with the end of February compared to the previous month.
This is a significant fact, since traditionally February is a month of rising unemployment, so it breaks the trend of recent years.
The number of unemployed is 2,365 people, which in terms of the year has declined by 391 people compared to the same month of the previous year.
These are numbers below the levels of the last seven years, indoors to 2010 levels.
This decrease of 46 people has been more pronounced in men, with a total of 31 unemployed less compared to women where the decrease has been 15 people.
By academic standards, the bulk of unemployment continues to be concentrated in the levels of general education (Primary and Secondary), being much less significant in professional education and especially in higher training cycles.
By age, youth unemployment remains relatively low, barely 12%, the largest group being over 45 years old with 46% of the total unemployed and 42% of the group aged 25-44.
It should be noted that job creation focuses on the first two groups, ie young people and those under 45 years of age, increasing unemployment in those over 45 who account for almost half of all unemployed.
